Welcome to Rant and Recombobulate

I am Samuel Heyes, I run Rant and Recombobulate as a consultancy. I am a post-transition transgender man from the UK. I provide an online confidential listening space for transgender and non-binary (trans+) adults worldwide to express themselves and a space to explore or share their knowledge.

My goal is to provide the much needed space for trans+ adults to rant, or communicate in whatever way, confidentially about the troubles of trans+ life. In this private space, away from the social pressure of not being able to express anger, you can get angry. This is not therapy, nor a medical practice and  does not offer any therapeutic solutions or direct assistance. It is a confidential validating listening space for your rant about trans+ life and a co-learning space. I believe that having a space to let it all out and then seeking fulfilment through knowledge interests will allow for steam to be blown off and a distraction to be provided to re-orient the self into working order.

Anger is a natural reaction to unfair circumstances. In comparison to cisgender people, we get a harder time because of being trans+ anywhere in the world. Rant and Recombobulate is designed to be the space for that reactive anger to be purged and then left behind as we pursue your interests.

I recognise that what is considered 'trans+' in the UK is in constant redefinition and has flexible and permeable boundaries covering a broad expanse of experiences from questioning to various forms of transitioning (socially, legally, medically, etc). I recognise that fluctuating difference is greater when other cultures are considered worldwide. I will not define trans+ or place the label upon anyone, and trust clients to use the service in good faith.
